Al Gore Documentary: An Inconvenient Sequel

Al Gore’s New Documentary: An Inconvenient Sequel

Following on from his 2005 film; An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore looks at the global transformation on the issue of climate change.

Within the documentary Al Gore highlights two major positive changes: firstly the increase in frequency of extreme weather events, and secondly the spectacular decrease in the cost of renewable technology. This continuing decrease in cost is making renewable technology (in particular photovoltaic solar systems) compete, if not undermine, fossil fuel alternatives even without government subsidisation. This is set to continue with energy prices increasing and PV technology becoming cheaper, the world is now realising that renewables are both economically and ecologically the way forward. In fact solar PV panels now cost a tenth as much as they did when the first film was released just over 10 years ago.
