Corporate Responsibility

We are proud to have played a key role in driving forward the uptake of clean energy solutions throughout the UK.

A future based on clean energy

Corporate responsibility

Solarsense has developed and adapted in its 25-year history to play a key role in driving forward the uptake of renewable technologies in Bristol, the South West and UK as a whole. Our key mission is to power the UK towards a clean energy future.

We are dedicated to sustainability and committed to making renewable energy technologies more accessible and better understood. By continuously reducing our own carbon footprint and developing pioneering ways of increasing the uptake of renewables; Solarsense is demonstrating how businesses and the wider community can reduce their environmental impact and is actively aiding them to work towards a greener future.

Solarsense partner with Rainforest Concern

The Tropical Andes is the most biodiverse region on the planet and home to more mammals, birds and amphibians than anywhere else on Earth. However, the region is under serious threat: in Ecuador alone, copper mining, unsustainable agriculture and roadbuilding is causing the loss of forest habitat at the rate of one football pitch every 1.5 minutes.

Solarsense has therefore partnered with Rainforest Concern to protect the rainforest for future generations. For every square metre of rooftop solar panels installed in the coming year, we will sponsor ten times the square meterage of rainforest to support the charity’s work.

Giving back: locally

We feel it’s only right that organisations do what they can to share their knowledge. Each year we invest our time and expertise in direct support of selected charitable projects throughout the UK and beyond.

Solarsense has partnered with The Brightwell as our chosen charity for 2021. The Brightwell is home of the West of England MS Therapy Charity, which has been helping people with neurological conditions for more than 35 years. The centre offers oxygen therapy, physiotherapy, clinics, advice and support for those living with long-term chronic conditions such as; Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Stroke and Fibromyalgia. It is an invaluable lifeline for both its patients and their families. For more information, please visit The Brightwell Charity Project.

Giving back: overseas

Our latest overseas project saw a team from Solarsense visit one of Bristol Zoological Society’s in-country wildlife conservation projects on the island of Madagascar.

The team helped to set up a refurbished solar PV system to power their research & conservation station, helping to protect three types of endangered lemur species. Solarsense also installed a variety of small solar systems for a number of tourist camps and throughout the local village to provide electricity for the Madagascan community.
