On existing houses, where the roof isn't being re-tiled, normally it is better and far cheaper to fit a bolt-on solar panel system to the existing tiles or slates. However, when a new roof is being installed, an integrated thermal panel system can be fitted to give a neater finish.
We use either a leading German-made solar panel installed with a flashing kit - similar in design to a 'velux' style window - or a C21t tile. The latter give the neatest finish, but only integrate with concrete interlocking tiles and do require larger roof areas.
On new-build and renovations, solar panels can be linked to heating via a thermal store - see solar thermal for heating section for further details.
Please send us any plans you may have, or ring to book a free survey for this type of system.
