Solar PV systems - proven technology, with a
25 year guarantee and a 50 year life-expectancy

Generate your own electricity!

The use of photovoltaics (PV) in buildings has come of age. The uptake has grown by 50% per year, worldwide, for the last 10 years. It is now a proven mass-produced technology, typically sold with a 25 year performance guarantee and a life expectancy of 30+ years. There are no moving parts and absolutely no maintenance is required. We use only the highest quality components throughout our systems.

Part-P LogoWe generally only fit EU-manufactured or assembled equipment. Our PV modules and inverters are either manufactured or finished within the EU, which reduces carbon miles, and ensures we are not selling 'new' brands from the far East that are relatively untested. Having been doing this for many years, we understand that there is a coefficient between low price and good quality.

 Excellent Prices

We have a very keen pricing policy for high quality equipment which will be expertly fitted by a passionate team - if you are having quotes from other companies: check their experience level - you don't want to find yourself a guinea-pig for a start-up company; ensure the quote is all inclusive (e.g including scaffolding or access); make certain they have all the relevant accreditations; be sure that the quality of the equipment suggested or quoted is top-notch - not a 'fly-by-night' company that may be cheap today but gone tomorrow when you might need their warranty.

Here in the U.K. the vast majority of PV systems are grid connected panels bolted on to domestic roofs. Over recent years, payback rates have increased for PV installations. From 2010 the Clean Energy Cashback scheme will provide a paradigm shift for PV generators.

This pays a set premium rate for generated ‘green’ energy units. For more information see our Feed-In Tariff (Clean Energy Cashback scheme) page.

In addition, a recent Guardian article calculated that a house sold with a solar system installed will sell for up to 9% more than an identical house without renewable energy fitted.

Here in the South West region of the UK – contrary to the popular misconception – we are ideally situated to gain maximum yields from photovoltaic solar energy. This is due to a combination of high annual levels of sunshine and UV, low pollution levels and cooling Westerly winds (PV yields are reduced significantly in temperatures over 30°C).

What this means to our customers is a 20% increase in yields per year, over and above the UK average figures. In fact, on a recent study trip we made to Northern Spain, we were surprised to learn that some of our systems in the SW of England outperform those fitted in Spain.

Part-P LogoPV is simple to install – usually no more than a couple of days – with virtually no disruption to the householder. All Solarsense accreditations are signed off according to Part P Electrical Regulations and therefore do NOT require building control consent.
