How to apply

To apply to the RHI scheme, you will first need to create an account with Ofgem, the UK energy regulator and administrator of the scheme. Please follow the instructions on the page to register for an account. Once this has been done, you will be able to fill out your application.
There is a Guidance document available here which sets out how the scheme will be administrated, and which it is advisable to read before beginning the application process.

Accreditation process

Applicants will have to provide a range of information as part of their application, including information specific to your technology and site. The application is quite long – however it is possible to save your application and come back to it later.
Before starting your application, it is probably a good idea to read the Summary of Supporting Information document, available here. This sets out details of the documents and information that may be required to complete your RHI application.

Ofgem aims to decide whether your installation is accredited under the RHI within 4 weeks for a ‘simple’ installation, and within 6 weeks for a ‘complex’ installation.
You will receive a letter from Ofgem confirming your acceptance onto the scheme if you are successful.
