What would a system cost and what could you save?We have developed a calculator to help you work out what returns and revenue you might expect from a solar electric system, which you will find below. To make any calculation possible, we have had to average the performance of the modules we typically install, and we have used the pricing for our mid-range systems. We can provide cheaper systems, or world-leading high-efficiency arrays that will be more expensive than the average figures used in the calculator. Our figures include 5% vat, but scaffold may be required at extra cost. In essence then, the calculator will provide a relatively accurate impression of system sizes, costs, yields and paybacks, but we do not recommend that any financial forecasts are made without a full survey undertaken by a member of our sales team. Please note - all calculator results are based on figures supplied by DECC as part of its Clean Energy Cashback Scheme, launched on 1st February 2010.You will need to know the average price you pay per unit (kilowatt hour/kWh) from your electricity supplier – please have this information to hand. As a guide, the average area needed for each kilowatt-peak of solar PV is 7m². You will need to roughly measure your South-facing roof area and compare against the following layouts to see what sort of system would fit, and then use this information in the calculator. System Layout Options(all dimensions are in mm)1.8kW

Shading of the array will affect its performance and ultimately your payback, so the best option is always to find a roof without shading in any season. Planning permission is not generally required – please see our FAQ page for further information. DISCLAIMER:Solarsense UK Ltd Provides the Clean Energy Cashback in good faith as an indication of likely system costs and payback from them, in accordance with the published UK Government figures for the Feed in Tariff. All indications of prices and paybacks given on our website are covered by the caveat that we recommend a site-specific survey is done for every potential renewable energy installation. |
