Renewable Energy on New Buildings

There are several standards to which houses are increasingly being built, the main ones being:

  • AECB Bronze – Platinum standards
  • Code for Sustainable Homes 1-6 star ratings.

Renewable energy can help construction projects and existing properties to reach the required or desired standards. We are confident in working with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors, and architectural consultants to ensure an integrated pproach to renewable energies.

Solar Thermal is normally the first choice, in terms of payback and cost. When underfloor heating is fitted, our solar thermal system can provide a Thermal Store (tank-in-tank of 300 – 1000 litres) with hot water for use in the underfloor system. The Thermal Store can also take heat from various sources e.g. boilers, heat pumps, wood burning stoves etc. It gives pressurised hot water and enables the solar thermal to assist the heating in winter. It can easily be sited in boiler rooms, utility rooms or garages.
